Exploitation and extraction of barite from Qarakand.
The barite and silica mine of Qarakandsedekhi is in the province of East Azerbaijan, located in the city of Maragheh in the northwest of the country. According to the estimated reserve in the mine, 9000 and 2200 tons of silica and barite will be extracted annually in this mine, respectively, according to the exploitation license and the start of mining operations. Considering the suitable specific gravity of this mineral (4.32 gr/cm3), the extraction of this material can play a great role in the country's industry.

The materials extracted from mines contain significant amount of impurities and in most cases, the existence of these impurities reduces the grade of the mineral so much that it couldn't be economical for extraction. In this case processing raw materials for aquiring a product that is usefull and economical is crutial.
